Allen Luethke ('16) and Kelly Teboe ('15) are both Anthropology majors at James Madison University attending the second year of the Points of Contact Archaeology Field School in summer 2015 led by Dr. Dennis Blanton. The Points of Contact project began in 2008 with Fernbank Museum of Natural History in Atlanta, GA. The goal of the project is to understand Georgia's history during the era of Spanish colonization, though namely the exploratory period between 1525 and 1550. The project began in search of an early 17th century Spanish mission, but has evolved into something much more.
